On Monday, January 8, 2024, Raven Shanice Varnes passed away peacefully leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Raven was a vibrant soul, known for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. Her kindness, warmth, and infectious laughter touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Family was the center of Raven's world, and her love for them knew no bounds. She was a dedicated daughter, a loving sibling, nurturing auntie, and a humble friend who made every gathering brighter with her presence. Beyond her love for family, Raven had a passion for football that was truly infectious. Whether cheering for her favorite team or enthusiastically debating the latest game highlights with friends, her enthusiasm for the sport was a source of joy for all who shared in her passion. Raven had an uncanny ability to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, and her love for football was a testament to her ability to find joy in life’s simple pleasures. Raven will be remembered for her radiant smile, her caring nature, and the love she showered upon those around her.

The family will receive friends and the community 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel, 139 N. Main St, Hastings. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 20, at the Lord's Temple, 140 Gilmore St, Hastings. Interment will be held in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
