Luicoe Eugene Wilson, 94, of High Point, NC, left this life to be with the Lord, on January 14, 2024. He was born in Kings Mountain, North Carolina on October 31, 1929. Luicoe was the eldest son of Frank and Carrie Leona Dye Wilson.

Luicoe attended High Point public schools and was a proud graduate of William Penn High School. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon finishing his military service, Luicoe returned to High Point and began a career in industrial and property maintenance. He completed vocational training in brick masonry by attending night courses at Guilford Technical Institute. This training, in addition to his natural mechanical aptitude, prepared him to design and build three separate houses between the years 1960 and 1973.

Luicoe was a faithful Christian servant who loved the Lord. He was a dedicated member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, Wells Memorial Church of God in Christ, and Providence Church of God in Christ in Guilford County for almost 70 years, notably serving as Chairman of the Deacon’s Board, Sunday School Superintendent/Teacher, and Financial Officer/Trustee.

In service to the community, he was the Coordinator of the Bread of Life Ministry and distributed food to local families for over 30 years.

For over 60 years Luicoe shared the bounty of fresh, organic produce from his carefully tended garden - his happy place!

Luicoe was a faithful, loving husband, nurturing father, and hardworking community leader. We will deeply miss our King Louie, Poppy, Granddad, and Brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Plato E. Wilson.

Luicoe is survived by his beloved wife, Clarice S. Wilson; daughters Adrienne, Angela (Marshall), Andrea, and son Christopher; grandsons Trae, Troy, Christopher, and Benjamin; granddaughters Mía and Joya; brothers Leon (Edith), Wilbur, Norman (Eunice), and Ronald; and a host of much-loved cousins, nieces, nephews, family friends and associates.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Providence Church of God in Christ, 1210 Montlieu Ave, High Point, NC 27262. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
