Funeral service for Bishop Louis McCurdy, 90, of Columbus, GA formerly of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:00 noon (CST), Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at True Deliverance Holiness Church, 936 North Donahue Drive, Auburn, AL, 36832, with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Bishop Nolan Torbert, Pastor, Bishop Freddie Williams, Officiating, Bishop Larry McCurdy, Eulogist.

Bishop McCurdy, who passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his home in Columbus, Georgia, was born April 12, 1933, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (CST)

Bishop McCurdy will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Mother Mozell McCurdy; five children, Becky McCurdy Carlis, Frederica (Bishop F.D.) Williams, Willie Charles McCurdy all of Columbus GA, Larry (Shelia McCurdy) of Orlando, FL and Robert (Teresa) McCurdy of Warren, OH; seventeen grandchildren, Latavious Jackson, Christopher Williams, Sheena (Alfred), Karen Williams, John (Ebony) Carlis, Stacy (Sidney) Glover, Rebecca Carlis, D’idrick McCurdy, Caleb Williams, Jaayla (Artavius) Foster, Michael (Sarah) Carlis, Demarcus McCurdy, Kiera McCurdy-Brown, Aaron (Jakia) McCurdy, Briana McCurdy, Joyce (Warren) DeMunn and Terell McCurdy; special god granddaughter, Shitony Jones; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, Jaziah, Myles, Jaden, Marcus Jr., Reign, Jaylei, Jaela, Jasmin, Sanaa, Maxx, Sa'El, Jordan, Kendall, John IV, Faith, Grace, Hope, Journee, Jace, Ayleena, Aja, Khloe, Katelynn, Kaylee, Warren, Kiersten and Kennedy; two sisters-in-law, Linda Ware Opelika, AL and Elizabeth McCurdy of Montgomery, AL; niece, Mattie Huguley of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
