OBITUARY

Charlie M. Lassiter was a devoted wife, loving mother, amazing younger sister, servant-leader, golfer, avid traveler, and cherished friend. She unexpectedly departed from this world on January 17, 2024, leaving behind a long legacy of love, faith, and kindness.

Charlie was born to loving parents, the late Charlie “Tuck” Frazier and the late Lula Mae Jackson Frazier in Lee County, Alabama on February 5, 1950. She was later married to the late Conrad James Lassiter (preceded in death on August 29, 2013) for forty-two beautiful years. Her marriage to Conrad was a bond that withstood the tests of time and served as a shining example of love and commitment. Charlie and Conrad shared two children: Kenikie Lassiter (daughter) and Kevin Lassiter (son). She cherished the time spent with them, creating lots of memories filled with joy, laughter, and unconditional love.

As a proud graduate of Alabama State University (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) and Auburn University at Montgomery (Master of Public Administration), Charlie cultivated her passion for business by serving in many positions across the state of Alabama government. She was the former Director of the Human Resources Division, Department of Revenue, State of Alabama. She held this position for twenty-five years until retirement.

On a weekend getaway trip with Conrad many years ago, Charlie was introduced to the game of golf, and she never looked back. The excitement of learning a new game with new rules and gaining new friends was one of her favorite activities.

Guided by her unwavering faith, Charlie M. Lassiter was a devoted Christian and an active member of St. John’s AME Church for the past fifty-three years. While she served many on committees throughout the years, she served on the Stewardess Board, Trustee Board and she recently received the Women’s Missionary Society Life Member designation. She also spearheaded many planting projects supporting the beautification of the church campus both inside and out.

Charlie M. Lassiter leaves behind a long-lasting impact on those fortunate know and work with her. She will always be remembered for her warm smile, compassionate heart, willingness to ‘get it done’ and her beautiful, white hair.
