Mr. William Junior "Big 18" Crawford

Mr. William Junior Crawford, more affectionately known as “Big 18”, was born, November 21, 1949, to Ms. Margie Crawford in Alexandria, VA. At a very young age, he attended Mount Olive CME Church. His early education was in the public schools of Upson County. He graduated from Booker T. High School in Barnesville, GA. William later joined the Antioch Baptist Church and was a member of the Lamar County Prayer Band.

His work career began as a school bus driver for the Upson County School System. He later was employed by the City of Barnesville in Public Works and lastly at Evans Timber Company as a truck driver. He was skillful in working on cars, trucks, heavy equipment and was a diesel mechanic. During his leisure time, he enjoyed talking with his friends, especially about logging, driving trucks and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, two sisters, Debra Marshall and Rhosetta Marshall and three brothers, Brian Marshall, Johnny Caslin, and Jimmie Caslin. On Friday, January 19, 2024, the Lord called his name. He answered the call and went home to be at rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Mrs. Lisa (Jeffrey) Beckham of Thomaston, GA; four grandchildren, Mr. Dontaveous Crawford, Mr. Atrailyus Beckham, Ms. Jeleisa Beckham and Ms. Saniya Beckham all of Thomaston, GA; one great-grandson, Jacaden Crawford; siblings, Betty Byrd, Paulette Marshall, Margaret Marshall, Kristen Leon-Pez, Curtis (Sabrina) Crawford all of VA. Paul Marshall and Louis (Tammie) Marshall both of Atlanta, GA, Walter Turner of CA, Jonathan Marshall and Rosa (Bobby) Chambliss both of Barnesville, GA. Ricky (Mary Ann) Caslin of Forsyth, GA, Pamela Character and Iris Caslin both of Griffin, GA. Miriam Caslin of Murfreesboro, NC, Denise (Kelricker) Wimbush of Jonesboro, GA; three devoted friends, Mr. James (Gail) Holloway, Mr. R.C. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. James Hugh; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
