Vic’Quan Destin-Thazir Newton was born on November 21, 2006 in Syracuse, NY. He entered into eternal rest on January 22, 2024 in Hampton, VA.
Mr. Newton relocated to Upstate SC at 7yrs old along with his mother and siblings. Later, April 2023 moving to Hampton, VA where he was phenomenally cared for by his big brother and sister in law whom are both Petty Officers in the United States Navy.
Vic’Quan loved his family and friends, and people in general. From elementary school through his now senior year he has remained a scholar and an athlete. Vic’Quan was set to graduate June 2024 with multiple college acceptance letters and emails from including, but not limited to: Old Dominion University, Norfolk State University, SC State University, JMU, Liberty, NCSU, and many more! He has remained an A/B honor roll student. His most recent gpa is well over a 3.0 given his all A and one B grade status. He was also an AAU/AYF football player with The Carolina Bulldogs, RBE, Byrnes High School, and most recently Hampton High School. Vic’Quan also previously worked at Big Air in Spartanburg, SC and most recently Sky Zone in Hampton, VA. He was also a successful day trader and entrepreneur. He established the Versify Clothing brand and online store at the young age of 16 years old in 2023. He had a smile that would light up a room. A playful spirit, huge heart, intellectual mind, and an old soul.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his mother, Viccarra Newton-Coker; his brother and guardian, Roshawn Newton-Johnson (Felisha) of Hampton, VA; his siblings, Tyreea Allen, Rhiana Williams of Charlotte, NC, Rhison Williams Jr. and Rhimeir Williams; his father, Rhison Williams (Keysha) all of Syracuse, NY; his nephew, Diamontre Gailliard; his maternal grandmother, Andrea Newton; his maternal grandfathers, Craig Corriders and Victor Coker; his paternal grandfather, Larry Williams; his godmother, Unique Works; and a host of aunts, uncles, family, friends, teachers, colleagues, and godsisters.
He was preceded in death by his maternal sister, Tiasia Newton; paternal grandmother, Debra Jean Williams.
A Celebration of the Life of Vic’Quan Destin-Thazir Newton will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Livestream will be available via Facebook on the TEEFERGUSONREPORT.
