Cecil De'Sergio Ashford IV

08/29/1993 - 01/20/2024

Cecil De'Sergio Ashford IV, the precious son of Cecil D. Ashford and Shelia Padilla was born August 29, 1993, in Minneapolis, Minnesota at Hennepin County Medical Center Hospital. As a child, Sergio was happy and always looking out for all his younger cousins and siblings. He attended Minneapolis Public Schools District District #1 and was a graduate of St. Louis Park High School in 2012. He followed his dreams and attended Aveda Institute and earned a certification in Cosmetology. At an early age he attended Living Word Christian Center with his mom and siblings as his home church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota (MN). Sergio also was a part of Drill Team at Pilgrim Rest led by Rev. Dr. William Pierce.

Let's honor the life of Sergio, aka Solounge, SerPromise and Solo. A true maestro of joy, he's had a knack for bringing smiles to all. Sergio, the sweet soul who made every gathering a party, cherished every moment of his life with family, friends, and his beloved dog JuJu. From making every reality of life full of laughter, smiles and enjoyment to dreaming of modeling and being the family hairstylist, he added color, vibrancy and what he would call “the tea” to life always and everywhere.

Sergio loved to live life to the fullest and “to the woop” as he always sang radiated sweetness, spreading joy effortlessly. Wherever he went and whoever he met, he left a lasting positive impact, one that was filled with love, no judgement and pure authenticity.

Serg's pure pride and joy was the bond with his dog, Princess “JuJu” Bea Ashford. The bond was unbreakable, their presence was felt during family visits or nights out, JuJu was Sergio's sidekick. Sergio was a sweet and loving person to everyone he was around and would bring joy to everyone in his presence. To know him was to love him. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, ad his dog JuJu, which he wants everyone to know that he loved his baby so very dearly. Serg absolutely enjoyed dancing and being a foodie. He also enjoyed watching reality TV shows and movies where JuJu would be somewhere near.

Serg loved partying and enjoying life. If there was a family event, Sergio was there with a smile, funny stories, and ready to get the energy "turnt" up as he would say. Serg was and always has been a phenomenal loving person to everyone he encountered, bringing joy to anyone in his presence. Our free-spirited Serg taught us what it means to live life to the fullest, because one thing Serg did was live his life on his own terms and while creating many stories for us to tell, laugh and enjoy together. His memories, smiles and giving “the tea” will forever remain in our lives. He forever reminded his younger brother, sisters, cousins that he was the big brother and big cousin-"periodt"! He leaves behind many cherished memories and endless laughter with forever celebrating life to the "woop"!

Sergio departed this life Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Ramsey County, Minnesota. This day will forever change the world, the world lost a pure soul that day, but God gained an earthly and heavenly angel.

Serg life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family.
