Brandon Avion Williams

Passed 01/31/2024

Mr. Brandon Avion Williams, 23, of 7253 Finnigan Road, Charlotte, NC, transitioned peacefully on January 31, 2024, at Atrium Health Mercy in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by family. Brandon was born October 31, 2000, at Atrium Main to Jessica Williams.

Brandon resided with his great grandparents Virginia and Richard Whittenburg as well as his grandmother, Leslie Burns in Charlotte, NC. Brandon graduated from Vance High School in June 2019. He participated in many activities such as bowling and the Special Olympics where he won many awards and defied the odds. He was strong, resilient, and a shining light wherever he went.

Brandon had many things he enjoyed like watching his favorite movie “Cars”, playing video games with his mom, siblings, and uncles. He loved watching his great grandmother cook, always curious about what she was whipping up; but nothing compared to his favorite fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and green beans. But, of all things, Brandon loved vehicles of any kind; whether it was cars, trucks, or motorcycles. His face would light up watching big semi-trucks on the highway. Brandon's first words when you walked through the door were, “What's up?” and “Where is your car at?”, as he was ready to be in the wind with his favorite people. He loved to go fast. Mr. B had a smile that would light up the room, and he never met a stranger; it was always love at first sight.

Brandon is preceded in death by his great grandfather Phillip Williams Jr., great grandmother Carrie Thompson and uncle, Patrick Hopper.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories his mother, Jessica Williams of Charlotte, NC; brother DeWayne Andrews, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Ashari Andrews and Micahyla Jackson of Charlotte, NC, grandmother; Leslie Burns of Charlotte, NC, grandfather, Barry Gullatte of Charlotte, NC; great grandparents, Virginia and Richard Whittenburg of Charlotte, NC; uncles Phillip Williams of Concord, NC, Justin Hopper of Charlotte, NC, Joshua Hopper of Atlanta, GA, Travis Thompson of Charlotte, NC; Damien Whittenburg of Belmont, NC, Calvin Whittenburg of Gaffney, SC, Dennis Whittenburg of Colorado Springs, CO; aunts, Lisa Hopper of Shelby, NC, and Ebony Bean of Shelby, NC; Cassandra Little of Boiling Springs, NC; cousins Janecia Meeks of Concord, NC, Auqen Williams and Alani Williams of Charlotte, NC, Camille Little of Boiling Springs, NC; his special aunt, Sierra Moore of Charlotte, NC, as well as a host of family and friends.
