Funeral service for Donnie Thomas, 58, of Cusseta, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at True Deliverance Holiness Church, 936 North Donahue Drive, Auburn, AL, 36832 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Bishop Nolan Torbert, Pastor, Reverend Doug Jones, Eulogist.

Mr. Thomas, who passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at his home in Cusseta, Alabama, was born May 20, 1965, in Fulton County, Georgia.

Public viewing will be Friday, February 2, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Thomas will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Janice Thomas of Opelika, AL; seven children, D'Tavius Floyd, Jacquavius Thomas, Mykal (Lashunda) Morgan, Anthony (Sade) Johnson, Gregory Jackson all of Opelika, AL, Junea (Larry) Freeman of Chicago, IL and LaShonda (Jevon) Sands of Lanett; parents, Jessie (Janice) Bell of Loachapoka, AL and Lillie Thomas Bell of Opelika, AL; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annette Thomas-Daley of Decatur, GA and Cassandra (Quinton) Bell-Roberts of Opelika, AL; two brothers, Terry (Melissa) Bell of Opelika, AL and Felix (Dr. Frankie) Bell of Newnan, GA; two aunts, Tecora (Louis) James of San Antonio, TX and Angeline Wilkins of Athens, GA; three uncles, Edward Thomas, Matthew Freeman and James (Dorothy) Wilkins all of Athens, GA; one sister-in-law, Linda (Teddy) Hancock of Cusseta, AL; five brothers-in-law, John (Yvonne) Ingram, Lindsey (Torronld) Frazier, Grayling (Elaine) Frazier, Donald (Yvonne) Carr all of Opelika, AL and Joe (Atherlean) Carr of Lafayette, AL; two devoted friends, Cedric “Bug” Shorter and Melvin Hatcher; two special nephews, Torria Roberts and Joshia Bell; special nieces, Veronica Daley, Kuwaunda Holmes and Taelor Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
