SPARTANBURG, SC-- William Sanders (Bill) McCracken, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2011. He was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late William Sanders McCracken, Sr. and Annie Ruth Anderson McCracken.Mr. McCracken was self-employed. He was the owner of Asphalt Paving and Concrete and a vender at the Asheville Highway Market.Mr. McCracken joined New Zion Baptist Church in 1995 and was a devout Christian. He worked diligently for his church and community-always willing to help anyone in need. He was a faithful member on the Deacon board, President of all-male choir, a member of Pastor's Aid Ministry, and a member of the Busy Bee Symphony Ministry.His survivors include a loving wife, Mamie L. McCracken; three daughters, Kimberly Geeter, Koren McCracken and Velita Waters; one son, Donnie Waters; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren all of Cleveland, OH; one devoted sister, Evelyn (Charles) Gilliam of Spartanburg, SC; and a special cousin, Betty Linder of Spartanburg, SC.The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Evelyn Gilliam, 19 Macks Ct., Spartanburg, SC.J.
