Lotus Mei “Lala” Perry was born in New York City to the parents of Hongfar and William Perry. Lala was a happy, loving, and very sensitive child who loved to dance. As an adult, Lotus loved kids and always wanted to be around them, but she still enjoyed her alone time. Every child she encountered was always treated with love. The entire community loved Lotus. She was someone's grandmother, daughter, aunt, and best friend, all in one. To know her was to love her. She was easygoing and welcoming, and everyone who shared her space felt like they were apart of her family. Lala was hilarious and animated, and whenever she entered the room, you knew fun was on the way.
Lala mostly lived with her grandparents, as she took care of them in their senior years. Lala's daughter, Mei Mei, brought so much love and joy to the home they all shared. After her grandfather passed away, she welcomed her second daughter, Chardonnay. Her children brought so much happiness to everyone. The children helped to comfort Lotus’ grandmother’s sorrow by adding 11 more wonderful years to her life after the passing of their grandfather. The entire home was always filled with love, peace, joy, and happiness.
Lotus leaves behind the memories of her two daughters, whom she taught to be strong and stick together, her sister, her four brothers, nephews, countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends. She was well known and beloved in her community. She was involved in everything that happened in her neighborhood. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
