Obituary For James Thomas

SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mr. James E. "Tarzan" Thomas, 64, of 22B Woodland Apt. entered into eternal rest on Monday August 27, 2012 at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was the son of Mrs. Wilma Means Thomas of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Mr. Ernest Thomas, Jr.Mr. Thomas was a native of Spartanburg County. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kimberly (Donald) Dawkins of Spartanburg, SC; a brother, Mr. Rufus Thomas of Spartanburg, SC; four sisters, Mrs. Ernestine Fuller of Moore, SC, Mrs. Carolyn (John) Byrd, Mrs. Phoebe (Alfred) Meadors of Roebuck, SC, and Ms. Anna Johnson of Spartanburg, SC; and a very devoted friend, Ms. Marie Grant.Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel. Dr. Charles J.J. Jackson, III, will officiate. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.The family is at the home of his sister, Mrs. Carolyn Byrd, at 148 Stribling Circle.J.W.
