Cathy was born to the late Kennie Davis and Lucy Minter Davis on November 3, 1948, in New York City.

Cathy was the 6th of 18 children and the 5th-eldest daughter. She attended P.S. 148, Cooper Jr. High, and Seward Park High School. Cathy attended business school in New York. She became Head Bookkeeper at Chase Manhattan Bank until she retired.

Cathy leaves to mourn one sister, Gail Davis; two sons, Craig Chancy and Brian Chancy; one daughter, Natasia Chancy Watson; and her husband, James Edward Chancy. One great granddaughter, two grandsons, three granddaughters, one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and one grandson-in-law. In addition to twenty-five nephews, thirty-nine great-grand nephews, twenty-two great-great-grand nephews, fifteen cousins, nine nieces, twenty-five great nieces, and nineteen great-great-grand nieces, and a host of loved ones to whom Cathy was called mom, grandma, Da-Da, auntie, sister, and friends. Her best friend was Tuffy. And her two loves, Velvet and Sunday. She will be missed by all. Gone, but always in our hearts and minds.
