Obituary For Terrance Curry

Terrance Alton Curry was born February 22, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Theaster Curry; he was an only child. Terrance departed from us on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis, Tennessee, after surviving diabetes and acute kidney failure.

Terrance dedicated his life at an early age. He loved the Lord and the Lord loved him. He served at White Stone Baptist Church, Eastern Star Baptist Church, Castalia Baptist Church, Greater New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, New Bread of Life Baptist Church, and Collins Chapel CME Church was his final church home.

Terrance was a 1978 graduate of Hamilton High School. He served in the United States Army from 1978 until 1990. He was a Platoon Sergeant, Material Quality Specialist, and a Parachute Rigger for the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Liberty, NC. He served overseas in Busan, Korea where met and married OkCha Kwak (preceded in his passing) as well as Fort Wainwright, AK. In 1982, he became a father to his son, Terrance Alton Curry, Jr. Then, in 1983, he had a daughter, Tameka Allison Curry, and finally in 2006, he had a son, Terrance Blackstock Curry. He was a loving and humorous father and grandfather.

Terrance was a very hardworking and faithful employee with Disney Distribution, Technicolor, and Nike, just to name a few. He was a disc jockey for Hawaiian Isle. He varied in many handiworks such as electrical, painting, and auto mechanic work until he became disabled as a double amputee.

Terrance leaves to cherish his loving memories: his son, Terrance A. Scott (Anthony) of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Tameka A. Curry; son, Terrance B. Curry; & two granddaughters, Jayah D. Barnett and Tameia A. Curry, all of Memphis, TN; a cousin, Lamont Curry (Elaine) of Belleville, Illinois; as well as a host of family and friends.
