Turhan Henderson Jr., affectionately known as "Man," was born on December 9,1979, to Turhan Henderson Sr. and FloEtta McDuffie Henderson Jordan. A beloved member of the Youngstown community, his beaming smile and hearty laugh, touched the lives of many. After a valiant fight, he obtained his ultimate healing and victory on February 18, 2024.
Born and raised in Youngstown, Turhan's passion for sports, birthed from playing with The Girard Little Indians, shone through his involvement as a coach with the Fighting Little Redmen and the New Bethel Braves. An avid New York Jets fan, he'd cheer passionately for his team and instilled the same love for sports in the youth he mentored.
He united at New Bethel Baptist Church as a child and accepted Jesus Christ as his LORD and Savior, where he actively participated in its youth ministries, music ministries, Vacation Bible School, and the young men's fellowship as an assistant to Deacon Timothy Butler. He was a mentor to young men and a source of encouragement to others despite his own personal health challenges. Turhan's spirit also resonated within the local music scene where he was an avid supporter and on the national scene where he worked security and crowd control with 2Deep Entertainment.
Turhan's memory will live on through his loving spouse Donshe Henderson, his mother, Min. Dr. FloEtta Jordan, his father, Turhan Henderson Sr. (Diane), his children, Turhan III of Youngstown, Josiah, Noah, and Caleb, at home, his sisters, Andrea "Cricket" Miller and Stephanie McDuffie II, both of Youngstown, Ohio, his brother Turan (Randy) Hendrix of Columbus, grandmother Geraline McDuffie, bonus parents, Rev. K.L. and Wendy Simon, mother-in-law Lorrie Shepard, special children, Savannah Walker, Jo'Nyshia McClendon, Christian Franklin, Gabriel Franklin, DeJuan Coman, Ka'Jaila Yancey, Demetrius Allen, Demetria Allen and DeSionai Taylor, godsisters Jocelynn Daniels and Michelle Stuckey and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
He was welcomed at Heaven's Gate by his grandparents Floyd McDuffie Jr., Edward Henderson, Aretha Henderson, great-grandmother Elizabeth Williams, father in law Thomas Shepard Jr, mother in law Lena Spragans and uncles Floyd A. McDuffie Jr. & Lawrence L McKeever III.
