Jon Thomas, 42, of Tallahassee, FL, died Sunday, February 25, 2024. Memorial services will be 11 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Strong & Jones Chapel, 629 W Brevard Street, Tallahassee, FL, 32304.

Jon took great pride in his tenure with the Leon County School Board, working more than 22 years as mentor for young aspiring minds and as an offensive lineman coach at Nims Middle School. He was a gentle giant with a heart for the children.

Jon is preceded in death by his father, Frank Thomas; mother, Gloria Jean Snead Thomas, and brother, Courtlandt Thomas.

Jon is survived by his wife, Kircia; his mother and fathers in-law, Alicia (Samuel) Groomes and Robert Gaines(Maribeth); sister, Kimberly (Christopher) Crawford; sister in-law, Shynita Gaines; devoted niece, Khorian (Raina) Pace; devoted cousins, Andrea Weatherspoon and Isaiah Thomas; longtime friend/brother, Algernon James, and a host of relatives and friends.
