In Loving Memory of Vincent Washington Sr.

It is with profound sorrow that we bid farewell to Vincent Washington Sr., a cherished husband, father, uncle, and steadfast friend to all who crossed his path. Vincent was born on May 19, 1954, to Pawpaw and Ernestine Washington. On the evening of February 24, 2024, at the age of 69, Vincent gracefully reunited with our Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mattie Washington, and his sisters Doris Monroe, Ethel Washington, Mary Horner and his parents.

At the age of 18, Vincent enlisted in the United States Navy, demonstrating unwavering dedication to serving his country. He fervently advocated for civil rights in Mobile, AL, and various cities and counties across lower Alabama. Vincent enjoyed a successful career in shipbuilding, retiring in early 2014. A true entrepreneur, he owned several businesses throughout his lifetime, embodying the spirit of enterprise.

Vincent's benevolence knew no bounds, as he extended a helping hand to all in need and forged countless friendships. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, with an infectious laughter that brightened every room he entered.

Vincent is survived by his seven children: Reschandra (Christopher) Young, Erica (Anthony) Crosby, Cynthia (Victor) Myles, Maja Washington, Vincent (Adrianne) Washington, LaTrease (Ernest) Oneal, all of Mobile, AL, and Priscilla Dials of Morgan City, Louisiana. He also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren Stephen Wheeler Jr, Broderick Wheeler, Tryus Wheeler, Amber Thomas, Austin Thomas, Anthony Crosby Jr, Victor Myles Jr, Victoria Myles, Aria McNeal, Asia Washington, Vincent Washington III, Ayden Washington, Victor Washington, Alli Washington, Jeriekai Dials JJ, Jmya Dials Mya, Dowane Dials Dj, Brian Weston Jr., One great grand child, Logan Myles. Brother's in law Eddie, Charles and David Wright, Sister in law Jeanette Baldwin. A host of devoted nephews and nieces, abundance of relatives and friends.

The Washington family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, visits, and overwhelming support received during this difficult time.
