“A Time To Be Born”
On October 1, 1928, God blessed Aaron and Minnie Collins with a baby girl born in Attala County, Mississippi, whom they named Ida Lue Collins. She was welcomed into this world by a close-knit and loving family.
“A Time to Plant”
Mrs. Ida, confessed Christ at a young age, and later united with Pleasant Grove #2 Church in Sallis, Mississippi where she served until, she became caregiver to her loved one and eventually her health declined. Mrs. Ida retired after 20 years as a Preschool Teacher.
“A Time To Love”
On May 5, 1945, Mrs. Ida was united in Holy Matrimony with her true love, David Whitcomb, Sr.; to this union seven beautiful children were born. Mrs. Ida loved her family dearly and believed in teaching her family and others about God's love.
“A Time To Die”
On Saturday, February 24, 2024, Mrs. Ida transitioned from mortality and took on immortality; transitioning from her earthly vessel to her eternal heavenly home. Her desire was to be home and surrounded by family and close friends. She understood the words of 11 Timothy 4:7, “For now I am ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” The Lord God embraced our beloved Ida, and her time in this earth realm ended.
“A Time To Mourn”
Mrs. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Minnie Collins and one brother, Frank J. Collins and one sister, Ollie Mae Harmon, and one lovely, devoted daughter Inez Whitcomb Gladney. She leaves to cherish her memories - six lovely, devoted children: David Whitcomb, Jr., Lester (Brinda) Whitcomb, Willie D. (Donna) Whitcomb, Charles R. Whitcomb, Stanley (Brenda) Whitcomb, and Diane Whitcomb; one loving sister Ms. Annie Kimbrough of Chicago, Illinois; thirty grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and a wealth of family, friends and loved ones.
