Ms. Rose Ann Shade, 66 of Youngstown, Ohio, triumphantly entered the Gates of Heaven on Friday, February 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Rose was born to the late John and Bernice (Stuart) Shade, June 16, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio; the youngest of six children.

Rose attended Youngstown City Schools and upon completion, she married Benjamin Franklin Woods, The Love of Her Life on July 7, 1973. Shortly afterwards, Rose began her tenure of employment with various jobs, specializing in the areas of customer service and healthcare.

Rose loved to dance and sing. She was blessed with an amazing, angelic voice. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends was her favorite pastime.

Among Rose's many gifts and talents was her reputation as an excellent cook. Her culinary skills were incomparable. Her favorite dishes enjoyed by her family were lasagna, macaroni & cheese, and her mouth-watering 7up pound cakes.

Rose re-dedicated her life to the Lord, uniting as a member of the Greater Friendship Baptist Church.

Rose leaves to cherish loving memories her children, Benjamin (Rebecca) Woods of Rocky River, Crystal Woods, and Jared (Brandi) Shade, both of Youngstown. Her legacy will be sustained by her siblings, Delora (Michael) Banks and Donna (Joseph) Turnage; all of Akron, Anthony Shade of Youngstown, and Melvin Harrison of Columbus.

Rose was affectionately known as Grandma, Ma-Ma, and Grandma Rose to her adoring grandchildren Juaquasha, Montrel, Terrell, Jawuan, Faith, Terrance, Nasya, Daivon, Aaliyah, Markell, Asya, Mariah, Andre, William (AJ), Winter, and Eric, along with her eight great-grandchildren and an expansive host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
