Obituary For Earkus D. Porter, Jr.

Earkus D. Porter, Jr., 18, of Columbus, GA passed Sunday, February 25, 2024 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service to be held at 2:00 p.m. EST, Friday, March 8, 2024 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Jones, officiating. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Columbus, GA. Public viewing from 3 - 5 p.m. EST, Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Earkus Porter Jr. was born on November 13, 2005, to Oriel Benjamin and Earkus Porter Sr. in Columbus Ga.

On Sunday, February 25, 2024 God called Earkus home to rest. Although his stay on earth was brief, he touched countless lives with his big heart and protective spirit.

Earkus was an 11th grader at Kendrick High School in Columbus, Ga. He had a love for football, basketball, and loved to play games on his PS5.

Earkus leaves to cherish his memories his loving parents Oriel Benjamin and Earkus Porter, Sr. of Columbus, Ga.; maternal grandparents Darlene (Willie) Hicks Sr, of Columbus, Ga., and Ricky Benjamin of Columbus, Ga.; paternal grandmother, Theresa Battle of Columbus, Ga.; great grandmother Ruby “Granny” Jackson; three siblings, Kayla Benjamin, Ry’Keria Golden and Earkavion Lee; along with the host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his grandfather DeEarkus “Bud” Battle, Sr., his uncle Orlando Hicks and his cousin Jermaine Thirkield, Jr.

Dear to his heart, he also leaves behind to cherish his memories his four-legged best friends Rosco, Roxy, Psych Out.
