SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mr. Harold Simpson Knuckles, (1923-2013) formerly of 307 South Converse Street, peacefully departed his earthly home on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 11:23 AM at Spartanburg Regional Medical System. Mr. Knuckles was preceded in death by his parents, James Knuckles and Maggie Thompson Knuckles. Mr. Knuckles twice retired from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was a dedicated member of Friendship Baptist Church.He leaves to mourn his memory devoted wife, Mrs. Nancy Fowler Knuckles; six children, Dollie Ellis of Washington, DC, Doris (Claude) Sears of Spartanburg, SC, Brenda Carol Knuckles-Foster of Spartanburg, SC, Annette Tyler of Atlanta, GA, Amanda Adams of Columbia, SC, and Michelle (Douglas) Payne of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one reared in the home, Michelle Tyler of Greenville and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church. Dr. M. A. Glenn will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening, July 8, 2013, from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel.The family will receive friends at 206 Lenderman Drive, Inman, SC 29349 (Chestnut Lake Subdivision).J.
