Patrick Dewayne Mitchell was born March 6, 1976 at 3:06 AM in Tallahassee, Florida to Janie W. Brown and the late Ulysees Mitchell. Patrick passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, March 2, 2024. at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Patrick attended Florida State University School (Florida High), kindergarten through high school, graduating in the class of 1994. Upon graduation from high school, he enrolled and attended Florida A&M University, where he received his Bachelor's (2001) and Master's (2003) degrees, with a major in Social Work.

After graduating from high school, Patrick worked for the Children's Home Society. Later on he was employed with the Community Action Program, The Neighborhood Medical Center and was currently employed with Centene, Children's Medical Service as a caseworker.

Patrick leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his loving and devoted children, Nykhala and Patrick Mitchell, Jr.; grandson, Khylan Jones; his parents, Maurice, Sr. and Janie W. Brown; two brothers, Maurice Jr. (Chasity) and Jeremy Brown; two sisters, Tracy Jones and Felecia Mitchell; five nieces, five nephews; a special niece, Jaelyn Brown, a special friend, Sha'Kurah Washington; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 12 Noon, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Old West Florida Enrichment Center, 2344 Lake Bradford Road, Tallahassee, FL, with burial at Oakland Cemetery.

Patrick was preceded in death by his son, Sharife Mitchell; his father, Ulysees Mitchell; his maternal grandmother, Ola Mae Jones and his paternal grandmother, Emma Jean Mitchell.
