Joe Ann Fowler of Blytheville, Arkansas was born March 2, 1953, in Blytheville, Arkansas to Earnest Fowler, Sr. and Addie Jenkins Fowler, Joe Ann was a graduate of Richard B. Harrison High School. She worked for many years at Borg-Warner Industries. Joe Ann was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Frederick Clay, Sr.
Joe Ann transitioned on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earnest Fowler, Jr., and Luster Fowler, two sisters, Shirley Andrews, and Pearlie Fowler and her beloved grandson, Jamion Sims.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sequita (Richard) Carpenter of Blytheville, Arkansas; five brothers, Larry (Earnestine) Fowler of Blytheville, Arkansas; Quincy Fowler of Blytheville, Arkansas; Grady (Linda) Fowler of Blytheville, Arkansas; Michael (Annie) Fowler of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Brady (Elizabeth) Fowler also of Blytheville, Arkansas; three sisters, Shirley Day of Yukon, Oklahoma; Judy (Pete) Thomas of Blytheville, Arkansas; and Sybil Chew also of Blytheville, Arkansas; a beloved granddaughter, Jada Sims of Blytheville, Arkansas, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 16, 2024, from 12:00 noon until services begin at 2:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney Street, Blytheville, Arkansas where Reverend Odale Jones is the pastor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Frederick Clay, Sr. will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery.
