SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Mary Emma Geter, of 101 Raintree Dr., passed on Wednesday, August 28th, 2013. She was the widow of Mr. Willie R. Geter. Mrs. Geter was the daughter of the late Mr. Arthur Greer and Mrs. Bessie Helen Hughes. She was a native of Spartanburg County. Survivors include: two sons, James A. (Betty) Geter and Stanley L. Geter of Spartanburg, SC; two daughters, Brenda G. Norman and Elaine G.. (June) Thompson of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Besie H. Sisco of Philadelphia, PA.; one brother, Roland (Lucinda) Greer of Virginia; two children preceded in death, William H. Geter and Maxine G. McDowell; and one grandson, Eric Norman; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Dr. Charles J.J. Jackson, III will officiate.
