PORT BARRE – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, LA for Mr. Bobby Lee Pickney, 71, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Fr. Clinton Trahan will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.
Mr. Pickney’s memories are being cherished by: his loving wife of 50 years, Audrey Pickney of Port Barre, LA; four daughters, Christia Bryant, Katina Bryant, Rapunzel Andrus and Kimala Cole, all of Port Barre, LA; special grandchildren that he raised as his own, Markail Sam, Simoneshia Rosette, Markeylon Williams, Marquis Andrus, Secret Williams, Marquis Williams, Jr. and Marlin Williams, Jr., all of Port Barre, LA; three brothers, Donald Ray Pickney of Port Barre, LA, Jackie Wayne (Carolyn) Pickney of Opelousas, LA and Tracy (Marie) Pickney of Leonville, LA; one sister, Sandra Hanchett of Port Barre, LA; one aunt, Betty White of Lawtell, LA; two Godchildren, Angella White of Houston, TX and Sylvia Guidry Brown of Lawtell, LA; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Charles and Margie Nell Pickney; his daughter, Hope Andrus; paternal grandparents, Amos and Cora Pickney; maternal grandparents, Henderson and Blanche Keys; grandsons, Jaylian Joseph and Khy’lin Andrus; and his aunts and uncles, Ivory Keys, Joseph Keys, Elsie Norris, Sylvia Keys Guidry, Leeanna Keys, Freddy Keys, Betsy keys, Marion Keys, Lee Ester Keys, Florence Norris, Lawrence Keys and Austin Tyler.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
