Mr. Ancil Lynn Rogers (Boxie), 65, of Gadsden, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He is survived by his loving family. We ask that you please keep this family in your prayers during their time of bereavement.

Mr. Ancil Lynn Rogers (Boxie) was born April 24, 1958, to the late Barbara Jean Rogers McDaniel and the late William A. McDaniel.

He attended the Attalla City School System.

At an early age he joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T.P. Walker.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Adrian Cole and Derrick Hampton.

Boxie loved working with his hands, he was a jack of all trades from carpentry, to plumbing and most of all painting. He was even a butcher. He could dress a Deer as well as any licensed butcher. He loved life and wanted everyone around him to be happy.

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, a loving and caring flower was plucked from this earthly garden.

Ancil Rogers (Boxie) is survived by his children. His daughter, Octavia Woods; sons, Boxie Rogers of Queens, N.Y., DeAntonious (Joann) Hampton of Gadsden, AL., and Roderick Legene (Alyssa) Young of Anniston, AL.; brothers, Calvin Rogers of Attalla, AL and Rodney McDaniels of Georgia; sisters, Debra (Jeffery) Johnson, Gwendolyn (Edward) Rollins and Cassaudra (Cecil) Knight; 7 grandchildren; aunt, Mary Oden of Gardenia, California, Delois Malone of Attalla, AL.; uncle, John Allen (Kate) Malone of Gadsden, AL.; Great Aunt, Francis Burton of Georgia; A friend to the end, Randy Boley, William (Bo) Graves, Twyla Beaman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 12noon-6pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 3:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Attalla.
