SPARTANBURG, SC--Mr. Joe Louis Alverson, Sr. of 425 Cotton Dr. passed on Sunday, December 29, 2013. Mr. Alverson was the son of the late Mr. Otis Jackson and Ms. Edna Alverson. He was a native of Spartanburg County. Survivors include: two sons, Elder Joe L. Alverson, Jr. and Mr. Tedrick Hackett; two daughters, Ms. Paula Conyers and Ms. Angela Alverson all of Spartanburg, SC; one stepdaughter, Ms. Debra Gist of Boiling Springs, SC; two sisters; Ms. Patricia Ann Miller, Ms. Betty Alverson of Spartanburg, SC. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel. Elder Joe L. Alverson, Jr. will deliver the Eulogy; burial will be in the Harrison Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
