Mrs. Ebony Sims

SPARTANBURG, SC – Mrs. Ebony Nicole Sims peacefully entered rest on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Mrs. Sims was the devoted wife of Elder Robert Sims; she was the daughter of the Mrs. Brenda Nelson of Asheville, NC and the late Mr. Nelson Perez of Brooklyn, NY, and reared in the home of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Thomas, Sr. Mrs. Sims leaves to cherish fond memories: her daughter, Alisha N. Sims (Eugene, Jr.) of Orangeburg, SC; sons, Sherman A. Sims and Andre N. Sims of the home; brother, Trevis E. Nelson of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Tawny (Arnold) Jones of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Andre N. Sims, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC and Eugen Burden, III of Orangeburg, SC; grandmother, Natividad Perez of Brooklyn, NY; six aunts; seven uncles; two great-aunts; a dear lifelong friend April Henderson; and a host of in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her brother, two aunts and one great-uncle. Mrs. Sims was a God-fearing woman whom gave her all and loved everyone. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She fought a good fight and she suffers no more. A Celebration of the Life of Mrs. Ebony Sims will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., at The United House of Prayer for All People, 660 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC. The Apostle P. Styles will officiate. Mrs. Sims will lie in state at 12:00 noon prior to service. Interment will be held at Thompson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends and Family visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m., at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel.
