Beatrice Wiggins Irons was born to Charlie Wiggins Sr. and Dora Phillips Lipscomb on September 12, 1927, in Pocahontas, Mississippi. She came to Christ at an early age at Pleasant Green Baptist Church. She attended Lanier.
High School in Jackson, Mississippi. “Bea” as she was affectionately called met Donald E. Irons and they were wed in Holy Matrimony.
Beatrice was a dedicated and hard worker. Her employment experience began at the Sheraton Corporation where she was the Sheraton’s first African American Hostess and Supervisor in their Hospitality Industry in the DMV. After retiring she became employed with the American Red Cross. After 20 years of employment there, she retired and then worked part-time for Computer Data Systems, Inc. (CDSI) and Convention Events Security (CES). Beatrice was a faithful member of New Southern Rock Baptist Church (NSRBC). She was devoted to her church and church family. She served as a member of the Missionary Ministry, and it also brought joy to her to be a member of the Courtesy Chorus. Throughout her life, Beatrice volunteered at many organizations.
Beatrice leaves to celebrate her life, one sister Alice Wiggins Sweeney (John), one first cousin (sister) Falba Purcell, one niece Laverne Wiggins Jackson, one nephew Kenny Ray Wiggins, one devoted cousin Elijah Wiggins, one Goddaughter Stene Johnson, two sister-in laws Thelma Dennison and Gwendolyn Cole and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
