Deacon Elbert Ferrell Sr., 92, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed on Tuesday morning, March 12, 2024. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday, March 23, 2024, at St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church, 655 West Georgia Street, Tallahassee, Florida, with burial at Clifford Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM, Friday, March 22, 2024 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.

Deacon Ferrell was best known for his long career as owner and Master Chef of Ferrell’s Deli and Catering Restaurant. He was a loyal member of Testerina Primitive Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon.

His love and legacy will be missed and remembered the most by his loving and devoted wife of seventy-two years, Frances Ash Ferrell, two sons, Morris Bernard Ferrell, Sr. and Elbert Ferrell, Jr., who recently preceded him in death; Eight grandchildren: Morris “Marcus” Bernard Ferrell, Jr., Marah Ferrell, Kanya Ferrell, Azaria Ferrell, Arielle Ferrell, Kedrick (Malika) Williams, Garrett Williams, and Gerald (Rhonda) Grooms; Seventeen great-grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, Cassandra Ferrell of Tallahassee, FL; brothers: Wilbert (Audrey) Ferrell, Elder Dr. Ernest (Mary) Ferrell, James (Eula) Ferrell, Leroy “Stoney” Ferrell, all of Tallahassee, FL; brother-in-law: John Ash, of Fort Meade, FL; sisters: Lillie Ferrell Berry, Shirley Ferrell Roberts, Tallahassee, FL, Lavern Ash, sister-in-law of Tampa, FL and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
