SPARTANBURG, SC- Mr. J.B. Smith, of 220 Maxine Street, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Smith was the husband of Mrs. Barbara S. Smith. He was the son of the late Mr. J.C. Smith and Mrs. Ruth Maxwell Smith. Mr. Smith was a native of Spartanburg County. Left to cherish fond memories are: his four sons, James V. (Crystal) Smith of Spartanburg, SC, Douglas E. Smith of Victoria, Virginia, Michael A. (Laura) Smith and Darius (Treva) Smith of Spartanburg, SC; one granddaughter, Tori Burton of the home; ten additional grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Celebration of the Life of J.B. Smith will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel. Reverend Chester Tower will officiate. Interment will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens with Military Rites. Mr. J.B. Smith will lie in state for viewing on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel from 4:00 -6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home. J.W. Woodward Funeral Home
