JaVon Pete McCall of High Point, NC, suddenly passed away March 26, 2024. JaVon was born on August 18, 1983, in Washington, DC. JaVon was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ruth McCall and Effie McFadden; grandfathers, three aunts and two uncles.
As a child, he had the distinct advantage of being reared in the urban streets of Washington, DC and the southern comforts of High Point, NC.
“Wop,” as he was fondly called, was very active and outspoken. He cherished spending quality time with his family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was watching sports, particularly football and basketball. JaVon stayed true to his roots by remaining an avid fan of the Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins).
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his mother, Shelby McCall of the home; father, L. Pete (Lynel) McFadden of Washington, DC; four daughters, Makenzie, Maziah, Jaliyah, and Jalayah; a sister, Chervette (Alonzo) Cole of Washington, DC; brother, Gregory (Love) McCall of Virgina; niece, Love; nephews, Camren, Canon, Cason, Gregory, and Derrick; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
