Obituary For Mr. Charles 'Charlie' White

Spartanburg, SC -- Charles Edward “Charlie” White was born June 25, 1944 and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He was the son of the late William White and Harriett Rollinson White. Charles was the husband of Margaret Ann Martin White. He was a native of Abbeville, South Carolina. Mr. White was a member of Foster’s Grove Baptist Church. “Charlie” graduated from Wright High School in Abbeville, SC, Class of 1962. He continued his education and graduated from Trade School in Denmark, SC in 1964. He later enlisted in the Army Reserve as an Indirect Fire Infantryman (11C) in 1967. Sergeant Charles E. White received many awards: Air Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device and Sharpshooter Badge. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his wife; his daughters, Toranda White of Boston, MA and Sanquinetta (Dennis) Nicholson of Charlotte, NC; his sister, Harriett Ragin of Laurel, MD; his stepson, Ereck (Tiffany) Palmer of Chattanooga, TN; his step grandsons, Prophet Parris Taylor Palmer Jackson and Landon Alverson; his step granddaughters, London Foster and Tristen McCullough; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Charlie was preceded in death by: his brothers, James Carl White and William “Billy” White; and his sister, Helen White Ashe. A Celebration of the Life of Charles Edward “Charlie” White will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Foster’s Grove Baptist Church, 899 Foster’s Grove Rd., Chesnee, SC. Pastor Horace Wilson, Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in the Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd, Boiling Springs, SC. J.W. Woodward Funeral Home
