Obituary For Ernest Degrafffinreid, Jr.

SPARTANBURG, SC - Ernest Degrafffinreid, Jr., 85, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 13, 2015. Mr. Degraffinreid was the son of the late Mr. Ernest Degraffinreid, Sr. and Mrs. Bessie Jeter Degraffinreid. He was the husband of Mrs. Jessie Houston Degraffinreid. Mr. Degraffinreid was a member of Bunton Instituational CME Church where he served as Chairperson of the Steward Board and Adult Sunday School teacher. He served in the Army and a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the position of Maintenance Supervisor for Corner Apartment. Mr. Degraffinreid is survived by his lovely wife, Mrs. Jessie Degraffinreid; one daughter, Carolyn (Melvin) Mitchell of Spartanburg; four sons, Willie (Angela) Degraffinreid, Fredrick (Pamela) Degraffinreid both of Spartanburg, SC, Vernon Degraffinreid of Buellto, CA and Mark (Sonja) Degraffinreid of Spartanburg, SC.; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A Celebration of the Life of Ernest Degraffinreid will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Bunton Institutional CME Church, 500 Wofford St., Spartanburg, SC. The Reverend Clifton E. Harris will officiate. Interment will be in the Foster Chapel Baptist Church, 2800 Stone Station Road, Roebuck, SC.
