Obituary For Elizabeth Meadows

Spartanburg , SC – On Tuesday, March 24, 2015 God reached into Spartanburg at 538 Little Creek Road to return one of his earthly angels to His heavenly home. So, today we celebrate, rejoice and are eternally thankful for the earthly life of Deaconess/Mother Elizabeth Meadows. Mrs. Meadows was born on July 1, 1931 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Foster and Mrs. Ethel Williams Foster. Mrs. Elizabeth Foster Meadows was the widower of Deacon Hardy Meadows, Sr. Elizabeth loved God and accepted Christ at an early at Harrison Grove Baptist Church. In 1980 she and her family joined the Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church, where she served on the Gospel Choir, Deaconess Board and was the Mother of Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Meadows was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Meadows as a loving and caring person, she loved and helped others and always kept you laughing. She always acknowledged that the Lord was keeping her. Mother Meadows leaves to cherish precious memories: her three daughters, Ms. Bessie Glenn, Mrs. Ethel (Reverend Donald) Fowler and Ms. Brenda Baker all of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her son, Mr. Hardy Meadows, Jr. of Snellville, Georgia; her five sisters, Ms. Lula Cohen, Ms. Mattie Ellison, Ms. Lucile Kelly, Ms. Emma Dover and Ms. Patsy Fernandez; her two nieces reared in the home, Ms. Frances Ray and Ms. Shirley Bradley; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life of Elizabeth Foster Meadows will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church, 494 Oaktree Road, Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Reverend Timothy Brown, Sr. will officiate.
