Mrs. Katina Lakeesha Johnson was born on July 3, 1976, at Eugene Talmadge Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, to James Washington Sr. and Eddie Dixon Washington. Katina passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on April 2, 2024, at her residence in Covington, Georgia.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 12, 2024, at noon at the Restoration Ministries International located at 2404 Tobacco Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906
Katina was a highly dedicated individual. She holds an associate's degree and served as a Cardiovascular Technician at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Katina has been recognized as one of the top Cardiovascular Technicians in Georgia and is renowned for her advocacy work in breast cancer awareness. In addition to her professional commitments, she actively contributed to her church community, Creating New Lives Ministries, through dance performances with the praise team, served as a minister, and engaged in various other activities that positively impacted those around her.
Katina is survived by her husband Jerry Johnson; her daughters, Ireka Johnson, Tyra Lockhart, and Jere’ Johnson; parents, James Washington Sr. and Eddie Habersham; siblings, James Washington Jr., Demetrius Johnson, Kim Williams, Demetria S. Washington, Monique Washington, Sanika Habersham, and Mercedes Bibbs; father-in-law, Dexter Johnson and mother-in-law, Ida Summerhill; grandchildren Ireoma Johnson and Geri Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Katina Lakeesha Johnson’s arrangements are being handled by Davis Funeral Home, located at 725 Beech Street, Louisville, Georgia.
