Fairries, Namon Lester, a devoted husband, loving and adored father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, AL, answered God’s call from labor to reward April 7, 2024. A celebration of Deacon Fairries’ life will be held at Old Elam Baptist Church, 2526 Cong W L Dickerson Dr. Montgomery, Alabama, Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Lee B. Walker, Jr officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Serenity Gardens, Montgomery, AL with Ross- Clayton Funeral Home, Inc., directing.
Namon Fairries was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System at the historic Georgia Washington School. Namon Fairries served in the US army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954. He earned a degree from Floyd Commercial School in Montgomery in January 1958.
He retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after 32 years of dedicated service.
Namon Fairries’ loving spirit, guidance, understanding, and caring attitude will be cherished forever in the memory of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephews, and family members.
Namon Fairries was blessed with three loving and devoted children; daughters Dr. Linda Fairries Cunningham, Arlington, TX; Andrea Fairries-Moore (Eugene), Fayetteville, GA; son Bertram Ricardo Fairries, Santa Monica, CA; four adorable grandchildren, Armon Jamal Moore (Myisha), San Francisco, CA; Brandon Adolphus Cunningham , River Oaks, TX, Thomas Ricardo Cunningham, Fort Worth, TX; Akaiyah Jene’ Moore, Fayetteville, GA; two lovable great-grandsons, Astrick Rocket Moore and Enzo Jett Moore, San Francisco, CA. Also left to cherish his memory is his sister Ethel Stovall, Lumberton, NJ., sisters-in law Janice Williams, Montgomery, AL; Eva Nichols and Elnora Pinton, Cleveland, OH; brothers-in-law, James R. White, Eugene Postell (Charlotte), Connie Postell, David Taylor (Carrie), Curtis Miller (Michele), Darryl Miller (Michele), Sampson Taylor, and Willie Taylor, all of Montgomery, AL. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held at Ross-Clayton Funeral Home. Montgomery, AL on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4:00PM-8:00PM.
