Spartanburg, SC – James L. Bridges, Jr., 47, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 10, 2015. Mr. Bridges was the son of Mrs. Willie Mae Bridges and the late Mr. James L. Bridges, Sr. He was the husband of Mrs. Michelle Bridges. James was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. Mr. Bridges was employed with Michelin Tires. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his loving wife of 18 years; his devoted son, Khari Bridges of Winston-Salem, NC (Wake Forest University); his cherished daughter; Siara “Brittini” Grady of Spartanburg, SC; his sister, Catina Bridges of Spartanburg, SC; his brothers, Vernon (Sadie) Whiteside and Marion (Angela) Bridges both of Spartanburg, SC; his treasured grandson, Dre’ Grady; and a host of children to whom he was a father figure, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and very dear friends. James was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Bridges; his grandmothers, Cora E. Smith and Ola Bridges. A Celebration of the Life of James Bridges, Jr. will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Dr. Joseph Sanders-Parks will officiate. Interment will be held in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Bridges, 135 Fremont Ave., Spartanburg, SC.
