Obituary For Gerald Williams

Spartanburg, SC – Gerald Keith Williams, 54, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 30, 2015. He was born on February 19, 1961 to Mr. Arthur Irby and the late Mrs. Shirley L. Williams. Mr. Williams was native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Gerald was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and attended the University of South Carolina – Upstate. Mr. Williams served and retired from the United States Army where he served from August 1979 – 2003. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his father; his daughter, Gelyssa Kaitlin Williams of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his siblings, the loving caregiver of the home, Ms. Terri Williams, Mrs. Marcia J. (Robert) Dowe of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Marcellus (Shizuko) Shands of San Jose, California, Mr. James P. (Deseree) Williams of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Sandra (Maurice) Hawkins of Woodruff, South Carolina, Mrs. Audrey (Steven) Miller of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mrs. Sharon Irby- McCoullough of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mrs. Regina (Tyshawn) Staggs of Inman, South Carolina, Ms. Sherry Irby of Greenville, South Carolina, and Mr. Archer (Randi) Irby of Lenia, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Celebration of the Life of Gerald Keith Williams will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 445 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC. The Reverend Dr. Benjamin D. Snoody will officiate. Interment will be held in The M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Dr., Anderson, SC. Mr. Williams will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
