James Matthew Mosley, 73, of Columbus, Ohio peacefully passed away on March 15, 2024. James affectionately known by family and friends as Rudy or Matthew, was born to James Sargent and Betty Jean (Grimes) Mosley, on December 26, 1950, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
James was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and working with horses. He enjoyed using his skills to enrich the lives of others, especially young people.
A man of deep and abiding faith, he operated in the prophetic and apostolic callings. Continuing the path of helping others, Apostle James used the word of God to start several ministry groups to counsel and support individuals & couples. Soft spoken but full of wisdom and insight. Although a man of few words, he freely offered and shared his talents and knowledge with others always with a smile on his face.
Apostle James began his professional career in telecommunications at Ohio Bell. Upon earning his degree in Construction Engineering from Franklin University he founded his own construction consulting firm, Mosley and Associates LLC.
James will be deeply missed by his wife of 12 years; his beloved mother Betty Jean Mosley; adoring daughter Angela Dent; supportive sisters Belinda and Bernita Mosley. His legacy will be embraced by his grandchildren Sabrina and James “Sam” Mosley, Sierra and Alana Dent. He was revered and respected by his nephew Terrence Mosley and niece Tiffany Mosley. He also leaves a score of family and dear friends who were impacted by his kind heart.
He takes his prepared place among the ancestors and was welcomed by his father, James Sargent Mosley and son James Edward Mosley.
As we come together to honor James, let us fondly remember his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. May his soul find eternal peace, and his memory continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Apostle James’ life and legacy will be celebrated on Saturday April 27, 2024, at 1:30pm EST gathering at 540 South Hamilton Road in Whitehall Ohio. All are invited to join in honoring James’ memory at this time of remembrance and reflection. A man of dignity and compassion, Apostle James will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who were blessed to know him. May his soul find eternal peace, and his memory continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
