Obituary For Harold Chatman

Spartanburg, SC – Harold Chatman, 79, of 2080 Washington Road, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Harold was born August 5, 1935 and was the son of the late Ike Chatman and Pearl Heard. He was a native of Talladega County, AL. Mr. Chatman was a 1956 graduate of Talladega County Training School. He was a member of Christian Faith Assembly Church where he served as a member of the Deacon Board, Finance Committee and the Men’s Choir. Harold worked for Mayflower Trucking and retired from Ritz Camera (3M Corporation/Jack Rabbit) after 30 years of service, where he received many awards and recognitions. Survivors include: two daughters, Dionne Byrd and Michelle Johnson both of Atlanta, GA and their mother, his former wife of 40 years, Rev./Apostle Carolyn Chatman of Spartanburg, SC; other children one son, Harold Chatman, Jr. of Anniston, AL; one daughter, Vachel Miles of Anniston, AL; one sister, Mamie Chatman of Talladega, AL; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of the Life of Harold Chatman will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Pastor Joseph Jones will officiate. Interment will be held in the Heritage Memorial Garden, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC. The family will receive friends at the home 313 Willow Oaks Dr., Spartanburg, SC.
