Obituary For Thomas Sibert

Spartanburg, SC – Thomas Lee Sibert “Fishman”, 79, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Mr. Sibert was the son of the late Mr. Will Sibert and Mrs. Jessie Bell Sibert. He was the widower of Sandra Kay Gist Sibert. Mr. Sibert was a native of McCormick, SC. Mr. Sibert was the Owner and Founder of Sibert’s Seafood for 32 years. Mr. Sibert was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his loving children; Bertha (Donald) White, Willie (Jeanette) Sibert, James O’Neal Sibert, Minnie Jackson Whitmire, Curtis (Tammy) Sibert, Pamela Sibert (Tony), Odell E. Gist (Angie) and Thomas L. Gist (Bobbie); his cherished sisters, Susie Mae (Japer) Milton, Elizabeth Gilchrist, Pauline (Gene) Heath, Betty McCier, Lula Collins, Shirley (Cleveland) Callahann and Nellie Ruth (James) Garnet; his devoted brother, James (Janice) Sibert; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Mr. Sibert was preceded in death by his wife; his son, Thomas “Butch” Sibert, Jr. and his grandson, Kelvin Anthony Sibert. A Celebration of the Life of Thomas Lee Sibert will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Reverend James Patton will officiate. Interment will be held at Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends at the home, 292 Crescent Ave., Spartanburg, SC.
