Obituary For Warren Holcomb

Spartanburg, SC - Warren “Pop” Holcomb, 72, son of the late Shuford and Edith Holcomb, lost his short battle with cancer Sunday afternoon, June 7th, 2015. Warren was a native of Cowpens, SC and he demonstrated at an early age that he was a gifted auto mechanic. Warren married Kathy Jennings of Stone Station, SC and they moved to Brevard, NC to begin their life together. Warren was a respected business owner in Brevard and upon retirement, his youngest son Adam took over the family business. Following retirement, Warren and Kathy spent time between Brevard and Pauline, SC where Warren enjoyed fishing, mowing his yard, tinkering with motors, caring for his roses and taking care of his 4 gardens. Pop’s grandchildren enjoyed following him around so that they could collect the coins and candy that would drop out of his pants legs and fall to the ground, as if by magic. Warren is survived by his wife, Kathy of Pauline, SC and Brevard, NC. He is also survived by his children and their families, his brothers and their families, and a host of other relatives and friends. Harold, Warren’s oldest brother, has been by the family’s side since this diagnosis and his presence brought great comfort to Warren. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their warmest thanks to the staff at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center Tower 3, and to the angels at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for the loving and compassionate care they provided both Warren and Kathy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider honoring Warren’s memory by donating to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Or, you may donate online to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Special Needs. https://secure3.4agoodcause.com/spartanburg-regional-foundation/gift.aspx?id=1
