Obituary For Bettie Hawes

Bettie Jo Henderson Hawes, 65, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 13, 2015. Mrs. Hawes was the daughter of the late Grover and Elwillie Hederson. She was a member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Hawes retired from Spartanburg Regional Health Care System after 33 years of service. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her son, Charles (Amanda) Garrett of Spartanburg, SC; her daughter, Marchele Garrett of Spartanburg, SC; her sisters, Ruth (Horace) Littlejohn of Spartanburg, SC and Sara (William) Littlejohn of Newport News, VA; her brother, Rev. Michael Henderson of Spartanburg, SC; her god son, Tohnyouna “Ty” (Nikki) Bennett of Duncan, SC; her granddaughter, Miss Kerrington Garrett reared in the home; seven additional grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her aunts, Emma Rice, Josephine Mayes and Loree Duncan all of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. A Celebration of the Life of Bettie Jo Henderson Hawes will be held on Saturday, July 18, 32015 at 2:00 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. C. Dennis Rector and Bishop J.W. Hester will officiate. The family will receive friends at the home, 226 High Street, Spartanburg, SC.

I just heard of Bettie's passing as I was away for the passing of my mother; however I am very sad to know my friend has passed away. 'To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord'. She will forever be in my heart.
