Obituary For Vivian Houston

VIVIAN HOUSTON Spartanburg, SC – Vivian Houston, 89, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 13, 2015. Mrs. Houston was the daughter of the late Lelia Woodson Bobo and the late Jim Hardy. She was the widow of Thomas Houston. Mrs. Houston was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Vivian retired from Carolina Fiber. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her son, Willie E. (Doris) Houston; her sister, Betty Ruth Lipscomb of Spartanburg, SC; her granddaughters, Zina M. Houston of Manhattan, KS and Katherine (Bill) Grobes of Chesapeake, VA; her daughter in-law, Cecelia Houston of Chesapeake, VA; her grandsons, Darryl and Terence D. Houston both of Spartanburg, SC; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her niece and nephew reared in the home, Joe and Precilla Bobo; her great-nieces and great-nephew also reared in the home, Lisa, Andre’ and Shaun Bobo; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Vivian was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Houston, Jr. A Celebration of the Life of Vivian Houston will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 220 Austin St., Spartanburg, SC. Reverend Roberta Anderson will officiate. Interment will be held in Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends at the home of her son Willie Houston, 503 Caulder Ave., Spartanburg, SC.
