Obituary For Bertha Middleton

Bertha L. Middleton Bertha L. Middleton, 83, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 18, 2015. She was born on January 31, 1932 to the late Nathaniel 'Big' Hoey and Lillie B. Littlejohn. Mrs. Middleton was reared in the home, as a daughter, in the home of the late Capus and Levenia Bailey Littlejohn; she was the widow of Robert A. Middleton. Mrs. Middleton was a member of Montgomery Chapel Baptist Church in Pacolet Mills, SC. She retired from S&S Hat Company in Philadelphia, PA. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her loving brother, Marion 'Retto' (Margaret) Hoey of Spartanburg, SC; her devoted niece and nephew and caregivers, Mary L. Smith and Minister Buford Fitzgerald Smith both of Pacolet, SC; her nieces, Gloria A. Smith, Donna K. Aiken, Lillie Adale Hoey and Cynthia Hoey all of Spartanburg, SC; her nephews, Harold V. 'Smoke' Smith of Pacolet, SC, Terry Hoey of Pacolet Mills, SC, Booker T. 'Jack' Hoey of Spartanburg, SC and Perrin Knuckles of Charlotte, NC; her God son, Lee Grant Isley, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA. Mrs. Middleton was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel M. Smith and Juanita Wallace. A Celebration of the Life of Bertha L. Middleton will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Montgomery Chapel Baptist Church. Dr. Timothy A. Mills will officiate. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
