Mrs. Emma Lee Johnson Brown, the daughter of the late Mr. Ozell and Mrs. Elwillie Johnson, peacefully entered eternal rest on April 12, 2024, at the Spartanburg General Hospital Hospice Center, after a brief illness. Emma was born in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, on August 30, 1943. Emma attended the Spartanburg County public schools and later entered into matrimony with Mr. Eddie Lee Brown, Sr. The later had six children

Emma was employed for many years at local textile mills in Spartanburg…. Arkwright Mills, Mayfair Mills, and Beaumont Mills. Emma was a very warm person and with an extremely outgoing personality. She was always “joking” with you, in a very playful manner. Alternately, she was very direct in communicating with people, often saying what was on her mind. Emma was always willing to help someone who needed it. She provided food and shelter for numerous people in the community. You could always find a seat at her table.
Emma was a devoted mother to her six children, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She liked to cook their favorite foods, (fried chicken, collard greens and pork chitterlings). Emma’s favorite activities were traveling and card games.
