Obituary For Mrs. Lurlene Spencer

SPARTANBURG, SC -- Mrs. Lurlene W. Spencer, 75, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Lurlene was born on December 20, 1939 in Chesnee, SC to her parents, Mack and Geneva Wilkins. She was the widow of Arthur Spencer. She graduated from Foster’s Grove High School in 1956. Mrs. Spencer worked at former Bonds Bakery, Hoechst Celanese, and Milliken Guest House. Lurlene was an active and dedicated member of the Ridgeville Baptist Church. Mrs. Spencer was an extremely generous individual who enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, housekeeping and she was very passionate about volunteering and caring for other individuals. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her son; her daughter in-laws; her four sisters; her four grandchildren; her great-grandchild; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. She was predeceased by: her husband; her infant daughter, Jennifer Spencer; her sons, Karen Spencer and Alfred Spencer Jr.; and her siblings, Fred Wilkins and Virginia (Tip) Foster. A Celebration of the Life of Mrs. Lurlene Spencer will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Ridgeville Baptist Church in Inman, SC. Reverend Amos L. Durham will officiate the ceremony. The family will receive friends and condolences at 4846 Bible Church Rd., Boiling Springs, SC.
