Obituary For Helen Sims

Helen Jones Sims, 89, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 1, 2015. Mrs. Sims was the daughter of the late Roland and Notie Jones. She was the widow of Bennie Ervin Sims, Sr. Mrs. Sims was a member of Community Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress from Claire Manufacturing. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughters, Rev. Shirley Gray, Mary Alice Sims, Dr. Glenda P. Sims, Joyce (James) Morrow, Jacqueline Sims all of Spartanburg, SC, Jessie “Lucy” Brown of Baltimore, MD, and Angela Sims of Columbia, SC; her sons, Rev. Albert (Decindy) McKinnley Sims and Rick Jerome Sims both of Spartanburg, SC; reared in the home, her niece, Geraldine Jones Fowler and her two grandchildren, Ronnie and Suzette Sims. Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Belinda Sims and one son, Bennie Sims, Jr. A Celebration of the Life of Helen Sims will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 445 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC. Dr. B.D. Snoddy and Rev. Allen Rector will officiate. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to service. The family will receive friends at the home, 190 Fuller Rd., Spartanburg, SC.
