Obituary For Lunnette Davis

Lunnette Sanders Davis answered the Master’s call on October 29, 2015 at Bon Secours Rehabilitation Center in Newport News, VA. Lunnette was born to Rutledge Robinson and Annie Mae Jeter on June 3, 1925 in Union County, SC. She was married to the late Dock Sanders, this union was blessed with five children, Sadie Eleazer (Coley) of Yorktown VA, Levester Sanders of Spartanburg, SC, Zebrie Vincent Sanders ( Ulanda) of Evansville, Indiana, Marion Keith Sanders of Pittsburg, PA and the late Gwendolyn Jackson . Her siblings are Lula Mae Jeter, Jimmy Wilson Wallace, Adolphus (Rosa Lee) Wallace Jr., Abner H. Wallace, Preace Jerome (Mary Ruth) Wallace and Budessel (John) Chapman. She was preceded in death by Rev. Converse Robinson, Reuben Robinson and Ozella Brown. In later years, she met and married the late Troy Davis; and his children, Charles Davis (Joyce), Cynthia Talley, Jeannette Watson and Sharon Ward became her family. Mrs. Sanders Davis joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at a very early age and served faithfully until her health began to fail. Her ministry involvements included: Deaconess, Sunday School , Senior Citizens, June Birthday Club, Member Emeritus Sanctuary Choir and Senior Usher Board, Evangelism Ministry, Pastors Aide, Sympathy Club, Mt. Moriah Food Pantry and Evangelism. She was a member of Jeptha Chapter 21 of the Order of Eastern Stars and a member of the South Converse Neighborhood Watch. Lunnette retired from Monsanto Inc. in 1990. Left to cherish her memory are: her nineteen grandchildren; her great grandchild; and a host of many loving nieces and nephews. Final Rites by the Order of Eastern Star will be held today from 6:00-6:30 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends at the chapel following the rites from 6:30-7:30p.m. A Celebration of the Life of Lunette Sanders Davis will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 445 S. Church St, Spartanburg, SC. Dr. Benjamin D. Snoddy will officiate. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC.
